Please join us on November 3rd at 11:30am to listen to Lauren Wibe with The Green Building Initiative discuss the energy focused program called Journey to Net Zero.

As Associate Director, Programs & Technical Content, Lauren drives sustainability programs forward through research and development. Prior to this role, Lauren served as a civil servant at NASA managing the sustainability and air quality programs for the Ames Research Center. She received her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University in 2019. She was awarded the NASA Ames Graduate Fellowship in 2020 and completed her master’s in environmental engineering at Stanford in 2021. In 2023 she received her Professional Engineer’s License and a NASA Agency Honor Award Early Career Achievement medal. Lauren is passionate about sustainability, her cat, reading, and nature. In her free time Lauren serves on the Board of Directors for a local non-profit – the Huntsville Environmental Coalition and volunteers with other local environmental organizations.

The Green Building Initiative is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, working to empower decarbonization of the built environment. Unlike programs that require full net zero performance before recognition, the Journey to Net Zero is designed to provide meaningful recognition at every stage of the pathway and support a practical approach to improvement, whether a building is beginning with energy efficiency improvements or advancing toward deeper carbon reductions.

Come join us for a presentation covering the basics of the Journey to Net Zero and explore the tools and resources available for supporting decarbonization. Engage in open conversation about how decarbonizing can become more feasible for every building.
